Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

A: I spent some time after high school as a Military Intelligence Analyst and met my wife while deployed.

Q: How would you describe your role at the AMA? What is a “Day in the Life?”

A: As the HRIS Specialist, I provide information system support to the Human Resources department and enterprise wide for our employee information, benefits, compensation, learning and performance management systems. A normal day might touch on any of those areas depending on where we are in the payroll cycle during the month, or the time of year; when we are opening the APEX appraisal process, launching compliance training courses or running Benefits Open Enrollment. All of these functions require some level of setup, processing, maintenance, troubleshooting and reporting to ensure a successful and smooth operation.

Q: What is something at the AMA that helps you to thrive?

A: I have been very fortunate to have worked with a number of great people over the years. This has been key to keeping the work interesting and enjoyable, even in the challenging times.
